Mom Bloggers / Mommy to Mom

Alice, what does writing the blog mean to you and why did you become an entrepreneur in the first place?

I became an entrepreneur because I left a career to become a stay-at-home mom and after doing that for years, I was ready to have something of my own again.

Being a mom is the most important job in the world to me but there’s something about running my own business that gives me an added sense of pride I can’t find anywhere else.

What is your business about? How did you come across your idea?

My website helps fellow moms by offering tips and advice on all topics ranging from pregnancy to parenthood.

I have been a mother and wife for 13 years now and combine my experience along with researched information to help other parents.

Since you are also a mom… How do you balance your personal and professional life?

My kids are both in grade school which allows me the time I need during the day to focus on my work.

They are fully remote learning at the moment which does make things more challenging!

Have you made any adjustments to your personal and professional life to juggle these two roles?

I have sacrificed more “me” time to focus on my blog. In a way, it’s not a sacrifice though because It’s my passion and I love working on my website.

When I get an email from another mom thanking me for helping her, it’s the best feeling!

What is the greatest obstacle you have faced in achieving the success you desire? How do you overcome it?

The greatest obstacle I’ve faced by far is going through this pandemic we are all weathering.

It’s been a very stressful time for all of us but we are focusing on all of the good in our lives and just being together.

What are the things that help you stay organized throughout the day and get time for everyone and everything? Is there a special time planner, or workspace design, or technique that you use?

Tell us your time management secrets!

As far as time management goes, I stick to a routine.

After breakfast, I do chores and make sure my kids are set up for school. When Zoom starts for them, work starts for me.

We have lunch together and then I work for a bit longer until it’s time to make dinner.

We spend time as a family after that and do it all over again the next day!

Any recommendations to Moms who dream about being entrepreneurs, but just can’t get started?

My advice would be to figure out what you want to try and take the time to get started.

Don’t be afraid to fail or try different things. I started with an Etsy shop before I realized I wanted to create my own website.

Don’t expect to be successful overnight, anything worth doing will take some time. Learn what you can from people who know what they are doing and dream big!

I have a post on my website where I go through my journey if you’d like to take a look. ☺️
